...I'm thinking of swapping out my 1991 525i original engine which has 275,000+ kms on it. It's burning oil like crazy. Do you know which engines will fit and from what year and model? I'd like to swap with an engine with more power if possible. Thanks in advance.

You would need a new ECU and other parts if it wasn't the exact same engine.

i know thers a place called Bavarian engine exchange. you could get the performance package, or maybe something with VANOS.
