Swapped cluster getting ESD Regelt. Did search need help.

Hello all, I did a search on this, and found a couple things confusing. I swapped out my grey panel 89 535i auto cluster, with a 90 525i white panel auto cluster. I am now getting ESD, and brake lite circuit. Some say resolder I beleive R60 circuit, and I noticed that someone said remove encoder chip out of brown plug. Is this all correct? Both clusters have 4 plugs. Also I do not get the E or M indicator next to drive select. Any help would be great. Before removing none of this was a problem. Cluster just crapped out completely.

You really should have got a cluster from a 03/89 535iA or later with the correct coding plug. Do some searches on coding plug and you should get more details on them if you need it.

Thanks Myles. I have a pretty good hookup here, and All I can really find are white and blue clusters. Thanks again..... I'll leave updates
