My original unit, at ~24" x 6" x 2.5" didn't fit in the car no matter what I did. I cut the back of the bumper out etc, no go.

I recently deleted my AC as you all know and guesstimated that I have about 18" of room side to side and ample room top to bottom. I've also got about 4" deep of clearance in front of the radiator...so I got to thinking that I could put an intercooler up high, right behind the intercooler with the inlet and outlet at the bottom coming up.

Well here she is in all her beauty. It will look sick to have a polished intercooler staring out of the kidney grills. Some people with thinks its the radiator but those with an eye will notice it.

Its 16x13x3" deep... supports 500whp with only 1.2 psi loss @ 15 psi... excellent in my opinion.

This is going to be fun.

Thats a 17" LCD for reference.

I am now calling you out. You don't turn a single wrench on your car do you? All you really do is install fabrics to sweeten the interior for your soft ass, and electronics to entertain you and your buddies who all like to sit in the close confines of the E34 interior. Come clean Jon, stop putting on the front.

The only reason it's not dirtier is because after a while YOU KNOW IT ALL and don't need to use it anymore!

Well now that we know that there is a very high homosexual clientel for BMW. We will know if all of our hard work has paid off this weekend. I plan on getting my car running full standalone MS this weekend. I have my MS completely finished and all of the wiring is already done. Im excited. Jon, im gonna need to get the base maps from you and we need to figure out the trigger angles on the crank wheel for the wheel decoder.

Yeah we run Bosch water pumps in the GTI air to water, but very expensive pump, like $600 alone.

Brandyn - a couple steps ahead of ya. I have all the angles figured out as per James Cortina but I want to go over them with you at some point. Also, search my name for recent threads I made, BillR contributed a ton to one of my questions about coils/ignition and basically posted some pages from BMW manuals I hadn't seen before. I hooked up an LED to one of my Spark A output VB921s and it flickered on and off with spark, so hopefully that means something.

I too am going to start doing stuff. I am starting tomorrow I hope. I'll be online via laptop in the garage all day hit me up if you want to confirm things.

Yea, i'll hit you up and definately figure out the trigger angles. I saw that last post. Im surprised that the coils weren't grounded through the case, but the posts the had make perfect sense, i guess we do have to worry about 7.5amps. I got 610 ohm resistors instead of 680, but they mathematically work out for the circuit. So all of the resistors and vb921s are wired in and ground correctly.

Nice - the 610 may be too low, but you'll find out. James originally told me 600ohm then said 680, so i guess around there is fine. Man I am anxious.

Yeah Jonathon, air to water is good its especially nice to drop 2 lbs or so of ice in the water tank and go out for a rip :)

is it pretty reliable as far as everyday use? also what kind of tak are you going to use and can you put coolant in that? where are you getting the pump?
