im having problems with my front passenger door. it wont open from outside.. is anything loose? or is something broken?

Well, I would remove the door panel and have a look inside.
How can I say from here if something is loose or broken. Both is possible, but one has to check it.

Do you feel any resistance when you pull up on the handle? the paddle on the handle can break off, get a new handle from the dealer if its broken.

felt no resistance. the door panel is now removed, il try to take out the handle later.

Every once in a while, I have a problem with my driverside lock. It looks like it is unlocked, but it isn't. Kinda frustrating. So try pulling up your lock, and see if that helps.

Had the same problem with my sisters passat, I just pulled out the handle, noticed that the plastic piece that pushes down the lever on to the metal "switch" didnt have enough leverage on it to push far enough to open the latch. My quick and easy solution was to add on to the plastic piece with hot glue and some flat plastic beads....works like a charm now
