New to BMW's and just getting this project almost done. There is a single wire that is brown with a green stripe that runs infront of the timing belt cover. It has a 2 prong plug with a single wire. I can not figure out where this goes?
ALSO the wire the goes around the spark plug wire and has a 3 prong plug where does that plug into?
my car is a 1989 525i.

I am guessing you are talking about crankshaft position sensor and cylinder 6 sensor. Both plugs go side by side into the main harness plastic enclosure by the fuel pressure regulator but on the passenger's side. In correct position plug wires run down.

I apologize...
For some reason I imagined that you had 535 not 525.

I am shooting to start my car for the first time tonight if I get these wires figured out. I even bought a bently book for my car and that was the biggest waste of $25 I have spent so far on my car. It dont show nothing.
Have you studied the wire diagrams in the back of the Bently?

If someone could go pop there hood for like 5 seconds and tell me where they go or take pictures of it.

I don't have an M20, but according to the ETM they plug into the plastic conduit that has all the fuel injector wiring. Look between injectors 1 and 2. The farthest forward connector is for the wire that goes to spark plug wire.
Post your email and I'll send you the image from the ETM. I can't post image here since it exceeds max size I'm allowed to post.

The spark sensor lead plugs into the engine harness that is suspended under the intake manifold. It plugs underneath, so it's hard to see where it goes. Position a mirror near the bottom of the head oil return pipe and aim it to look up. Then you should see the jack.

What does the other end of it connect to? Is the oil pressure sensor (roughly under the right side engine mount) lead connected? Is the A/C compressor lead connected?

the single wire goes to the oil pressure switch behind the compressor, the inductive pick up from the #6 plug wire plugs in right next to the crank position sensor's wire under the intake, neither will keep it from running

the ac lead comes off the frame and has a 3 wire plug usually with a single round pin wire and sometimes a jumper wire in the plug

Cool. I had no idea. Here in the UK, I've only seen one M20 with A/C, and it had been very amateurishly (mostly) deleted. The compressor was still there, but all associated wiring and piping was removed.
