View Full Version : Does your shifter do this when in low gears?

This has always bothered me and the "Driving in Sport Mode" thread prompted me to bring this up. When I select S4 - S2 the cover that slides along with my shift lever stops covering and you can see the internals up by the "park" area. I can't imagine BMW would have engineered it this way so I need to know if you guys have the same thing, or if I need to buy a new part here.

hehe, im pretty sure its not suppose to do that john...probably time to replace it with a 6 speed tranny ;)

Well Kevin, you have a good thought there. Might be a bit of an extreme fix, but aw....what the hell? Know of a donor car around anywhere? :D

Thats common. the plastic just broke. New ones can be had for a couple of bucks.
