Radio Code

Ok,

I have a 95 525i and my battery had died on me. I went to enter the code and screwed up a few times. I know I can't get the code in until after the radio has been on for an hour. Is that one continuous hour or an hour in total?

Also...after I enter the first 4 digits correctly, I should hear a beep and then enter the remaining digit, correct (which should be back in the first position)?

pull the battery cable again then enter it correctly
