I finally parted with my 1994 530ia (204600 miles) So now I need to get another BMW. Probably another 5er, I've benn looking at 540s.
Any suggestions?

Buy the 535i, thats like the most sought after model. Unless you want to pay alot more for an M5.

Schmitty, I would consider either one excellent. Of course I am partial to the 540 myself. But they will command a higher $$ amount if you find a nice one. I had an E28 535is, and loved it. So I would guess an E34 535 would be quite nice as well (and easier to work on). If you have a choice, it will be difficult... Just try to drive an example of both. You have already had a V8, so you have been primed for the next step: a 540. I love mine...

How can you go wrong at 15 gees?!!
The thing has special order equipment, too.
oh wait....maybe not such a good idea after all

and it's located in queens. oh yeah nyc cars.... nope. seller has an NY title, and said he got it from a dealer and it was properly federalized. i was thinking about going to check it out, but hell i dont have $15k lying around and didn't wanna waste the guy's time.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR!
3 people have posted on the yahooM5 board about this one as well as several folks on m5board.com. Apparently it is a bondo buggy with rust everywhere as well as an F- interior and a knackered motor. Please, don't do it.
