my tranny is a hurtn' unit .... MM and Jim Blanton rebuilds cost about the same. I could risk buying a used one but I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with MM or Jim Blanton trannies .....

there are a few ppl with MM stuff. you could pull a used tranny if it's in good shape and the car was in good shape before whatever happened to make it a parts car. would be much cheaper. on the flip side, a rebuilt trans by professionals that has a warranty is hard to beat.

There was a picture a few years back in Roundel of Rowe using a belt sander to deck a head. 'nuff said. (I might be biased, though).
To my knowledge, Blanton doesn't do transmission rebuilds anymore.
Edit: just talked to Blanton, he'll build 260/265/280 and the ZF 5 speeds. The price is what it is because you get a work of art.
best, whit
