5 weeks of football heaven with serious sleep deprivation - starts in 7 hours time.

No you're wrong. The W.C doesn't start until 12/6 That's when (to my understanding) the Aussies have their first game! Funny thing is that I remember when we were last in the W.C. I bet you do too Bo...

im a SOCCER fan, i guess usa has a decent team this year, i dont follow it to closly, but i will be watching matches now that the pistons are out of the nba playoffs

how typical for americans like us to call it whatever we want, and then dismiss it as a "fairy" sport and say noone plays it when infact its what? the biggest sport in the world?

i guess if thats how they look at me i might as well be that way, f the world NBA playoff are on and the winner is somehow "wolrd champion" even though no one else in the world plays.

English fans have a chant : "2 world wars, 1 world cup" which they have been banned from chanting in advance !

They call gridiron - football, they call rugby union - football, they call rugby league - football, they call aussie rules - football, and they call football - soccer !

At least we have now changed its name from soccer to football in Oz.

Interesting to note that the World Cup is approx 3 times more watched than the summer olympics.

194 nations competed to get to the 32 in the finals.
