my healights all work on my 90525i but when i turn on the headlight it chimes and shoews low beam but all is good is there a sensor for the head lights?

Do you have a European specification car with auto dip function for the low beams? In that case there are small motors behind the headlights (accessible from engine room). These motors draw too much power and cause such alarms. Remove the plug from the dip motors and see if there is still an alarm.

I understand that all lights work fine, but that you get an alarm.

If it is the other way round, that you have failures of lights, then resolder the socalled mustard relay and the LKM, all mentioned on my website below under e32fixes.com

The lights are run by the LKM, the warnings are run the the CCM.

Your problem is probably dirty contacs or cheap blubs.

Check the wiring and plugs for your lights
