Hello everyone,
Just a couple of quick questions after I had my MOT today and failed for the following reasons:
1) Corrosion around offside rear suspension mounting point:
The guy has circled the back of my sill trim (the black plastic piece that runs under the doors at the bottom). I watched him take a hammer and put a hole in it. As far as I can tell its only the plastic trim that is damaged and cant feel or see a hole anywhere near the rear suspension or the sill.
He has recommended that I have a plate welded over it.
However, my indy (different garage) told me last week that my rear suspension was fine after my inspection II.
Should I be annoyed with the MOT testing station for damaging my sill trim?
2) Nearside dim beam pointing too low:
This follows on from when I had to replace the headlamp unit last year after an accident. However, I was unable to connect the adjustment motor because there was a different connector (round instead of square, maybe vice-versa). Is it at all possible to connect the two together, or are they totally incompatible?
My Car (in case not in my profile):
1991 525i SE automatic, M50 non vanos engine, 5 speed auto, everything totally stock.
I'd be very grateful to anyone who can give me a few pointers.
Thanks in advance
-Simon
