Well Andrea is at work right now so I figured I'd post to share the news. She got wheels for graduation! The funny part about these wheels is that they are the wheels that were on her car previously. The previous owner, Sal, had these Rondell 58s on the 95 530i when it was his. When Andrea purchased the car from Sal, we weren't sure we wanted her on 17x10's as a new driver in the NE US with pot holes and all. The irony is that over a year has passed, Sal still had the wheels, and last night I went up in Sal's old car to North Jersey (was quite longer drive than i had thought) to pick up the wheels. So now, the wheels and the car are united once again!

Hrm... would look good one mine...

So now both cars will don 17x8.5 fronts and 17x10 rears. Both cars on Kumho Ecsta 712s. Nice.

Cleaned them up - they have perfect tires on them still so we have to get them unmounted and put on the new rims. The cracked rims will become a coffe table.

Its funny - when I bought martins wheels (my rondell 72s) they were FILTHY. They looked like crap. Took them home, detailed them in and out and they look so good.

Sals wheels were CAKED in brake dust. I almost thought they wouldn't clean up nicely. But I just spent like 2 hrs cleaning them with a toothbrush and Meguiars wheel care and it all came out mint as new!

That's sweet. I just picked up 5 e24 rims for 5 bucks to do the same thing. North Jersey roads suck. How long did it take you to get there??

Me and PT (you met him briefly) left around 5:50p and got there sometime around 8:15 or so... we got home here back in Newtown at 10:30 :( 287 was a very nice drive but 206 thru princeton sucks - the NJ drivers do like 15 under the limit and its ridiculous.

Would those be considered style 42? Regardless of the answer, I reallly like those wheels.

They look like them, but Jon's right, but I feel the same way.
Hotness, Jon. Hotness. New turbo installed yet?

I understod that they were not a bmw wheel but I was curious if they were consideed replicas of the 42. I take it from your answer that there must be enough differences that the answer is no.

And going for a pic of the 42s I can see the obvious differences now. I like the clean look of the rondells.

Yeah - additionally they are much more staggered than a 42 and have a 15mm offset in the rear. They fit quite differently.

Yeah both rims are 17x10 in the rear. Mine look like the lip is about 1/4" bigger though. I am actually going to go out and measure right now.

Those are what i have too. A set of aluminium Hubcentric Rings eliminated the 50 MPH shimmy, nice.

Very nice wheels, I almost bought a set of these, but couldn't get the right size and was in a hurry. :(

Btw, they look pretty sweet on E39's too.

Gayle,

Style 42's I think are made by BBS and are two piece and they cost a friggin ton !
The Rondell 58's are one of my favorite wheels. I'm trying to decide between 17x8.5 in front and 17x10 in the rear, or the same wheel but in the 16" size (Jeff's 530).
