E34 Question

...whereas the E34 mirror has one locating attachment. If this is true, then no.

The glass is the same, but the mirrors are different- they mount differently.

Later E34s 1994 and later had mirrors that look like the E36 ones and these fit older E34s. The one for the E36 does not fit as it is fixed to the body with one bolt and the E34 uses two or three bolts for fixation. Try to locate older version mirrors, they are much better in terms of looks, visibility and live much longer as their latching mechanism is comparabel to the E39. they really klick in when opened and closed. Don;t fall for two right hand-drive imports though. You will see nothing as the mirror angles on this type are different from side to side. Happened to me before

This is the other way around.... all e34 use one torx bolt, 5mm- and it can be very, very tight- I suggest to anyone to spray with lube first and wait- you don't want to strip the torx head and end up running one old mirror... :) Nick
