WTB: e34 parts.

Picked up this car a few weeks ago for next to nothing, but as you can see, it needs a little work. I'm in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex... but I'll pay shipping costs if the price is right. I actually found all the parts needed, locally, for $250! but the guy sold the entire car as I was on my way to pick them up. Arggg...

Anyway, it's a 94 540i with the "wide grille". Any 89-95 5 series bumper will fit, but the grill needs to be from a 94-95. Also, if anybody knows a good place to start looking for the parts, please let me know. I'm brand new to the BMW world, and I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.

Looks like you might have found a real bargain if it's good mechanically. Those cosmetic problems won't be too hard to fix.

Just so you know, all 540s have the wide grille.

I'm not looking for new parts, just trying to get her up and running. It's got 180K miles on it, so scratches and dings are fine by me.



All 540's have the wide grille?? I posted on another forum, and they said that they came out with the slightly modified "wide grill" in 94. Here's the link to that thread:

Well, yes, the wide grill came out in '94, but so did the 540. :)

I have a bumper from a '91 535i if you want it. It's in good shape, but it's calypso red, so it wouldn't match your color. I also have headlights for the passenger side, but they're from a '92 and I don't think they are the US ellipsoid you have there. I've got a good radiator support too, but yours looks like it might be ok. I'm in Lincoln, NE.

All 540s have the wide grille. Not sure about the States, but in the rest of the world (including Down Under, where I am), the last manufacturing run for all models came with the wide grille. That's why my 525i has the wide grille, mine's an 04/95, and most other 525i's I see on the road have the narrow one.

Also, don't you need a fuel filler cap? ;) it's missing in the last photo.
