I finally got around to installing my clear corners today and when I got the carpet out of the trunk, guess what I found?? Wires!! And it looks like wires for an amp! I've wanted an amp for awhile but it seemed expensive and a hassle, but if these really are wiring for an amp I guess it won't be a hassle. Anyway I took some pics, and I was hoping someone here could help point out which wires are which, and which wires I am missing. So here are the pics-

As seen from the trunk.

See the wire going to the positive terminal?

These wires led to somewhere up front, I'm guessing the headunit?

So can anyone tell me which wires I am missing? Thanks

Okay. Next question?

Dude its pretty bad that they left wiring hooked up to +12v and just taped it over. That **** could have grounded out against the chassis and made a pretty nice fire.

From what I can tell in the picture (not typical color coding for amp setup), the power wire (thick red connecting directly to battery with in-line fuse) is there. You might want to check the gauging on that wire. Too much power through too high gauge (small) wire could be dangerous. I know of one guy, too much power, melted sheathing off of wire, fused to car body, caused amp & Battery to explode. Anyways, continuing, the white wire (usually blue) should run to the back of the head unit and connect to the wire that says "amp on" or "remote". This connection tells the amp when to turn on/off. And it does so when the head unit turns on/off. Otherwise you will either have a amp that is constantly on, or one that will not power on at all. This connects to the amp's "remote" connection. You also have another red cable, Ground (should be black). Make sure that it is grounded to the car, or again you will have no power to the amp. The RCA cables are there too, with the stripes Black (should be white) and Red. So from the look of it, you are good to go! :-D

The hardest part of installing the amp is running the wires, but there are only a few, and its more time consuming than hard.

My question for you is, What made you pull up the carpent if you were installing clear corners? :-P
