Guys,
Have an E34 530i and it's awesome to drive. Only thing is, Gas pedal is kinda tiring to push and so the throttle and thus acceleration of the car is hard to keep steady. Can the softness of the spring behind the pedal be adjusted or is this 'hard to push-'pedal normal??
Thanks in advance!

check the cable under the top engine cover, i basicly sits right under the insulation and can bind there. Also spray some silicone spray where the cable enters the sheathing.

I used so silicone lube all around the pedal bushings and also the spring assembly. Also replaced the throttle cable to cure this annoying problem. Operation is smooth now.

I had the throttle cable changed for a similar problem and it was the best money I've ever spent on a car! It might be worth filling out your profile to give additional information (my throttle cable was changed at 128,000 miles but had probably needed doing for quite a while). At first I had the cable and joints greased but this was a waste of time - it simply needed replacing.

Lubrication of the throttle linkage is a regular maintenence item.
Get some greese around all the bearing joints on the throttle body and make sure all the nuts are snug. Remove excessive slack in the throttle cable, and make sure a flooring of the pedal opens the throttles all the way.
