I've had the AC on my 95 E34 completely rebuilt last summer - all new components under the hood, recharged with correct R134a. I've also replaced the heater valve with a new one (aftermarket) last summer. New cabin filter as well.
The AC blows cold enough through the dash vents, but I seem to get a flow of warm air from the floor vents, even with the control slider for the floor vents shut off. Temp control for both passenger and driver side is set to coldest settings. The warm air somewhat dilutes the cold air, so the interior does not get as cool as it should.
Should there be warm (heated) air flowing from the floor vents in this situation? Is this normal? Just wondering if the heater valve is staying open, allowing warm coolant to flow through the HVAC system. Or possibly the flaps are not opening/closing properly? I do occasionally hear the flaps making noises in the dash. Like they are opening and/or closing.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
