They look yummy... currently have 18" replica M parallels. These wheels are nicer and 17" tires are less expensive... and I actually have some tires that will fit these rims.
Or should I save up and treat myself to some Fikse wheels for christmas?

Mmmmmm... Fikse FM10's...
My main concern is the hubcentric rings needed to make the E39 BBS RC 090 rims fit.

you running spacers for those M3 wheels? I also have a set of E36 M3 wheels lying around, but they are in rough shape and would need about $600 or better in refurbishing.

Hmm... $1600 is a bit steep, have seen go for $1000 on the bay...

I have had poo-poo experience buying rims off of eBay. I did get a quote from Fikse and I could get into a set of 17" wheels with some nice rubber on them for $2800-3000 including shipping... that may be the more unique way to go.

if you're going all out how bout a set of BBS LM's? I think Umnitza is having a 4th of July sale deal with 25% off? Maybe I'm retarded, but there's definitely a sale.
But those style 5's are so highly polished, they would be soooooo nice. However, how much does it cost to get them polished like that? You could conceiveably pick up a set of decent condition ones and have em polished up like that, probly would be less than $1600. Judging from the pics those are available on Saliya's website? (euromcars).
there's a member here, he's much much more active on bf.c.... name of skateparks. he has a set of staggered 18" style 5's, with gunmetal or is it black? centers. Since you have smoked headlights, corners, tails... I remember when he got them. ~1600 on ebay. Had an issue with the seller though, one of the wheels was apparently bent and he didnt find out til later, and had it fixed. Regardless, he said they're for sale, but wont be cheap. I'm assuming he wants what he paid plus a bit for tires.

Good point.... They would look sweet! I had a set in 18", never got around to polishing them, ended up selling for $700 or so on the bay

As long as they weren't bent, that's a great buy... curb rash can be repaired...

You will never know if they were bent and repaired before you get them... you end up with soft wheels that look like new!
They do look sweet though.

Hence why I prefer to buy new... other than tirerack where do people buy their rims?
You'd be insane to spend $1600 on a set of Style 5's. I bought mine for $600 + shipping.

the question becomes, are you gonna keep your m par reps if you get fiskes or style 5's? if not, what do you want for them?

I vote for the Fikse since nobody has them.

My advice is to not get the Fikse FM10's...I had a set on my 540, they are one of the sharpest looking wheels- WHEN CLEAN...they absolutely suck to keep clean because a) there is much intricacy to the wheel, and b) the ouside lips are bare aluminum because. it is a 3 piece wheel, they come with a shitty clearcoat on the inside "spoke"- I had that redone with a better clearcoat. the outside lips cannot be clearcoated because it is a 3 piece wheel and they bolt together from behind. if you clearcoated the lips, the clearcoating would crack when the wheel "flexes". believe me- they suck
my 2 cents is that the M-Parallels are the best looking, easiest to keep clean. if your wheels are always dirty, no matter how nice they are, they look like ****. I would tell anyone to buy a set of OEM E38 M- Parallels

even though I love my M-parallels,
I really like the Fikse look.

HEY MIKE! Nice to see you here...I still haven't had a chance to get digital pics to send you [I bought Mike's EXTRA set of M Parallels for my 1991 M5].
Back on topic--
$1,600 is stupid high for Style 5s. They are a relatively common wheel and you can find them for much cheaper than that if you look around.

These particular style 5s have been refinished with Nogaro Silver Centers and stripped/polished lips. Pretty damn nice for what almost amounts to a new rim. But yeah, they aren't cheap.
