Tonight I purchased a cherry 525i from the original owner in my neighborhood. My questions are pretty minor and I hope the masses here could help me.

* The brake pad wear indicators need replacing. The previous owner had the pads replaced but not the sensors. I can change these, but I wonder if the message on the dash will go away after I do so, or will I need to reset something? If so, how is that done?

* Anywhere I could find a replacement fan shroud? 2.5L I-6 Motor

* This ones kinda the big one. The car came with the factory 6-disc cd changer which works great. I'd like to put my Pioneer head unit in (DEH-940 Premier). It has one of those cd-changer ports in the back that looks a little like a waffle .. like # but more like 4-rows of 4 pins. Has anyone been able to find wiring harness adapters to make the factory 6-disc changer plug into the Pioneer head-units? If so, could you *please* link me to a source or a make and part number.

Thank you to all who have the info, and I'll be sure to post pics of my installation and car soon. :)

Yup! Replace them, 1 for front, and 1 for rear, and you're good to go!

there is a brake sensor in the left front and the right rear, you can probably fit it in without removing the caliper.

Get a fan shroud from the dealer or any of the online BMW OE parts stores, they fall apart with age and are cheap enough and very easy to replace.

realoem.com can get u the part number for your shroud.

I ordered my sensors from bavauto.com if i remeber right, ordered 2, onyl put in the front oen and my warning ligth disappeared, then I went and broke the front one when doing brakes so my second one was helpful. Cheap + easy to change, dont need to remove caliper or anything, jsut the wheel, pop out pop in wheel back on

Oh yah, cd changer, best thing to do is to goto your massive local car audio store show them the deck and show them the style of connector or the car and they can hunt one down for you probably. If not you coudl sell your original cd changer and pickup one that works with your new deck

Sorry to say this but there is no adaptor to make your cd changer to work. You will have to purchase a new cd changer. There is no way of making the bmw changer read from the pioneer cd deck.
