Euro vs US projector ?

My is a E34 530i 95' and it's in Canada (If my memory is right, the sticker on the door said its Made in Germany)

Just wonder which headlight she should have? Euro or US?

and what is the different between those two? I'm still not so clear the difference between them.

about the bulb, should it be 9006 or H1? (freefrom 9006, projector H1, am I right?)


porjector means the small spherical object inside the low beam, right?

i'm sure that is a object looks like a ball inside the glass cover:"D

are both Euro and US have that, and what is the difference between them?

If my low beam has the projector, thus it should use H1. But how about the high bean which don't have the half-ball object inside the cover


Also, i know what is the "Angel eyes", but what is "halo"?


The fog light, which one (projector or freeform) should she have?

Almust 100% sure you'll have the US version.

US use 900x bulbs. Euro use H bulbs. Euros have the "smiley" on the lowbeam. Basically a cutout in the front reflector under the projector.

Religious discussion. Some claim the Euro's are better, some claim no diff. I've had both and the cutoff pattern's a bit different but other than that, there's not much difference. Visually, the Euros are nice as they have the city light option.

Not by my recollection. The North American projector uses a 900x bulb. So does the high beam. See www.bmwe34.net for a good upgrade on how to retrofit the NA highbeam bulb into the lowbeam housing. Very worthwhile improvement.

US projector 9006, aftermarket H1, Euro H1 (probably)

The city light inside the smiley part, mostly. Cutoff is also different

Same thing. I post a lot about halo/angel eyes with pictures, just search.

Most likely projector as well since low beams are. Check for the lens inside

I checked it yesterday. the low beam is 900x

it is so hard to take the bulb out...lot of stuff obstruct near the assembly

there is also a projector in the fog light, and i really think the fog light is way brighter then the low beam...is it normal?

It's not too bad. The first time is always more difficult. It took me 20 minutes to take off the front grill and headlamps before... now I can do it in 5.

Brighter is probably relative. The fogs project much close and lower to the ground. This really shows the light through clearly. What you should do is go to an unlit area and try your fogs and low beams. Should see a difference.
