Wanted to get some interest going for a meet that's going on Sunday August 6th. at Bret Luter's('Rigmaster') farm between Garner/Clayton.
Anyway, have got some interest on S14.net and have some more non-M E30s coming. Wanted to get some E34's though, and since Bret's 'Farm' is basically a graveyard full of E30 and E34 parts cars, give everybody a chance to find that particular part they've been needing. So, bring your wallets as Bret's got LOTS of good parts.
Following some meeting and greeting at Bret's farm we could go for a small drive and follow up at the famous Stepheson's for some pig pickins'
Here's some shots from the last Bimmer.info gathering at Bret's...

Should have some cool cars, E30 M3(s) along with more non-M E30s. Plenty of other cool stuff, including a couple of nice Porsches (951 and 968).

I will be there on Sunday. Can I get directions again to the farm? I think I remember how to get there..just want to make sure. Also, what time will we be gathering and will anyone be bringing their kids/spouses?
Thanks,
Michael

Well, I won't speak for Bret but if Bill Bass shows up I'm sure he'll bring his 'Footnotes famous' son, :D
Formal directions on their way.

Not sure which bimmer we'll bring. Probably the E30, as that's more "vintage" than the E34. Of course, I could bring the Model A...but it was built in Charlotte, not Bavaria...

Alright guys- the date is drawing near. :)
Those who asked what car to bring, or if it's OK to drive a non-BMW.... What I say is, bring what you want- BMW or not! We all enjoy cars, BMW's are great, but there are lots of other cars out there too.
Now, what about time? I was thinking we could get started around 12noon-1pm?? I know that might sound late, but there are folks who might be going to church or just want to spend Sunday morning with the family. I figured we'd spend most of the afternoon here, then head out to get something to eat around 5-6pm.
It's going to be HOT, so bring water, gatorade, etc with you- there are plenty of c-stores to stop at on the way.
Feel free to email me (bretluter AT hotmail DOT com) for directions, or suggestions, complaints, comments, etc.
Thanks!
Bret

The best gatherings are the ones where you've got to drive a little.
There's another E34 coming from S14.net
Can't tell if there's going to be more E30s or more E34s.

...my coworker will try to make it out in his 325is. It's going to be a coin toss over which bimmer gets the nod for me. Such a decision!

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!!
Seems that they are doing some major construction on I-40 between exits 306 and 312 (312 is the exit you would normally take to get here).
Soooooo, I-40 between Exit 306 and 312 is a complete cluster this weekend.
Use Mapquest or some other mapping program to find an alternate route if you want- or here's a suggested route that is about the same distance, just a 2 lane road instead of I-40:
Take I-40 East of Raleigh, get off on Exit #306 (Hwy70), follow the signs in the direction of Garner (70 West), you'll have to quickly get in the left lane once you make the exit from I-40 to Hwy 70, and then turn LEFT onto White Oak Rd (this takes you past White Oak Shopping center- Best Buy, etc are here). Stay on White Oak Rd for several miles, the first light you hit will be Hwy 42, continue straight to the next light- this will be Cleveland School Rd. Turn LEFT onto Cleveland School Rd at this light. Go approx 1 mile and then turn RIGHT onto McLemore Rd (McLemore is the 2nd right turn past Mike Allen's Car Sales). We are approx 2 miles on the LEFT, 4283 Raleigh Rd. Dirt Driveway, farm pond and old barn on your right as you get to the driveway.
Email or PM me with questions/problems.
Bret.
