Hi guys, hailing from Germany here. I recently bought a BMW 525i and it needs some work. I went to ATU (local Auto zone/NAPA type place) and man for Monroe shocks and Eibach springs, they want 900 euro. So my question is, will the shocks and springs in the US fit my German spec BMW? its so much cheaper to buy these parts from the states versus here (aftermarket that is)

I also would like to know what all I would need to make the E34 ride like a newer M3. fun/sporty/and comfortable.

My experience here in US is that the big chain stores are not a good source for german car parts, either the dealer or a commercial parts house seem best for price and certainly knowledge. Online sources also offer good price but sometimes poor value.

Make friends with an independant mechanic and find out his parts house.

Nine hundred Euros seems excessive. An order from the US seems silly since most of it comes from your backyard to begin with. Don't forget the charges for customs if you import.

The US stuff will fit but may be different spec from euro, aftermarket is going to be different than OEM anyhow.

Nice rot interior!

AutoZone parts stores here in California has 3 versions of Bilsteins, including the 'Sport' version for my car for $119. each, which includes a lifetime warranty.
Is that a good deal ?

That sounds like a good price for Bilsteins, they are more than that from BMA. I paid around $125 each through my indy 2 months ago.

bavauto.com has the eibach spring kit for 197.89 Euro. The sachs shocks are about 70 Euro a piece. Yea, either order from a US website, or find a place da druben that has fair pricing.

Is it just me, or does that engine look bizarre? Oh, and Welcome to the Forum!

Thanks guys, It took awhile to get used to the red interior. Its nice and comfy but I almost did not buy the car because of it. Not sure why the engine looks strange, most people take a pic of the engine from the other side, but my cruise control throws people off because its not hooked up (kinda has a mind of it's own)

Saj3n: what would you like for me to share? hope this helps
