...What are the black things on top of the front bumper between the high and low beems? it that a reflector of some sort? or am i way off?

Got them on the Volvo, useless.
Anyone want to buy a Volvo without headlight rinsers and wipers?:p

The PO on my 540 had them disconnected, useless and what a waste of juice.
My 330 is the same, but if I turn the lights off, I can squirt without doing the lights.
In winter, I was going through a washer fluid container in 2 days!

turn key to on, then turn lights on, then pull washer stalk to wash windshield. Should wash headlights and fogs intermittantl with windshield squirters. Thereafter only the windshield.
helpful to have friend in front of car to verify.
