Are you sure that's a 540 though? It looks like an even older 525i/535i.

Mmmm... I think I read somewhere that the some lucky members of the constabulary in outback New South Wales are tooling around in E60 M5's. Almost makes one want to join up. OK... I'll go and take my medication.:D

Yup,Quite sure..540...Stopped behind it to take another pic ,but an irate fellow behind me wanted to get through..
The 540i also came fitted with the BBS style rear wheel in the pic...

Nice pictures, fun to see.

The E34 has the 88-92 mirrors, all 540i cars have the new mirrors, so I would say it ain't a 540i.
