Green Bimmer here from Orlando
a couple weeks ago my water pump broke on my 530i. I purchased the parts and I have the bentley manual. I am hesitate about putting the new pump onto the throttle body. Have anyone did this before?

the throttle body has nothing to do with the water pump, click here (http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/121282) to see the procedure for V8 engine which I think u have also.

its not a hard job at all, the only issue is 1 bolt that you can only turn 1/32 of a turn at a time. that 1 bolt takes longer to do than the whole project. put a chunk of cardboard in front of the rad so you dont poke holes in it.

I noticed on the instructions you didn't show the special belt tool. Also did you put the fan on before or after you replaced the water pump? Thanks

for sure you put the fan after u finish your work. you cannot do anything without removing the fan.
the tool mentioned is a replacement for what most of us do when we don't have it; it's the screw driver. the idea is to hold the fan shaft when you unbolt it, note that the fans bolt is unbolted by turning it clock wise when ur standing in front of the car so you wont waste half of your day tightening it instead of releasing it.
