I was amazed at how easily they went in... maybe took 25 minutes.

The fronts may take a little bit longer because I have to work through the Umnitza 9005/9006 HID install with their god awful euro ellips. But I've prepped the Hella Euro Smoked smileys and TYC smoked turn signals and they seem to be in good shape.

Yeah... they are smoked Hellas... I paid $379 for them + shipping.

I got the TYC smoked turns, Hella smoked euro smileys, and Hella smoked tails for $1017 including shipping from Abraham Motorsports. Mel is a great guy to deal with and these things arrived in great shape. His price for the fronts and turn signals were a little less than other retailers (i.e. not eBay) and I couldn't find a retailer who had the smoked rears.

(note: I put the wrong price in my post before, I changed it).

EDIT: I spent $146 with BMA Parts including shipping for the wiring up kit (Patrick is a god!), and about $25 for the front H1 bulbs, and I'm getting new bulbs in the rear which will probably run another $25.

Nice smokes. Those look like they fit perfectly! I bought these and not to thrilled about quality. They do look good but I had to add the rubber pads and seal the casing. He said they're made by Hella. I've seen the ones you've got on ebay and aren't they coming from Asia?I saw one guy selling a set he said were stock e34 lights he had "professionally" smoked and they looked exactly like the Hellas.Does Hella make the OE lights and lenses for BMW?

Asia, lol yeah. Hella does in fact make OE lights and lenses for BMW. They also do Volkswagen(I had a 94 Golf once) I wonder if they do the majority of German manufacturers.

How much is it to "professionally" smoke lights?

I got mine for $329 but I traded some stuff with the seller and it came to be about $230. My set came with all the original papers, including the Euro trim strip reflecters and 4th brake light/rear fog light.

Yeah... my Hella kit came with side markers and another brake light that i guess gets mounted in the middle of the bumper... but i didn't install it.

The fit on the Hella's are amazing...

And those smoked front turn signals on eBay aren't what I have (comparing the identifying marks stamped on the plastic).

IIRC, it was a rear set and they sold for around $200.00 on ebay. They looked indistinguishable from the Hellas which isn't really that odd if as OEM equipment they were Hellas. I suppose it shouldn't cost much at all if you have a friend ,as do i,who owns an autobody shop... Thanks for jarring my brain cell lose again and allowing me to remember i can have my friend do it to my stock lenses for a twelve pack of Bud tall cans.. ..
