Hissing sound & petrol fume smell

when my engine is running there appears to be misting and fumes coming from the fuel return hose just after the fuel pressure regulator (fpr).

how do i know whether it is the fpr or hose that is faulty?

also what is the correct fuel hose diameter to use?

just by looking at your title, the firefighter in me says to get out of the car and use your neigbors phone to call 911, 112 or whatever you respective emergency number is :)
