Debadged looks nice. That and take a little soap and water to that muffler. Then shoot it with a rattlecan of satin black, masking off the blue of course.

debaging adds some mystery. I get people to ask me "what kind of car is that" all the time

Well... I guess not so much debadged than white tails. I say do white tails and leave the badge. When you ride up to a 525, they'll smile at you. When you ride up to a 525 debadged, they'll smile, then laugh at you heh.

Debadged looks pretty good IMO. You're always going to get both sides of the argument in this forum -- a lot of people are for it, and a lot of people are completely against it.
If you ultimately decide to keep the badge, then at least change it to an italic version if you can -- I have a later model E34 so my badge is italic, which I can stand. If it wasn't, it would **** me to tears.
I actually don't mind keeping people in the dark as to what BMW I have. There are a lot of stupid people in the world that wouldn't know a 5 series if it smacked them in the face, that's why they always look at the boot lid to find out even what series it is. I find especially with the elderly in their early 1980s Mercs or Toyota Corollas that their whole attitude towards you changes when they discover you are driving a 5er, let alone what type of 5er.
My 2¢ worth.

What's wrong with your spoiler? I like the looks with a spoiler and would consider it eventually.

For your car, I think debadging is better. That blue is very conservative and I think debadging is a sportier look.
I wish my car was still badged just cause it is a 535. My car is so blingy it doesn't need the sportier look.
How much does the euro trim cost? My trim has a scrape and the car would look better if I replaced it. Will probably go that way.
oe euro trim is about $100 for all four pieces from BMA

$79 from abrahams motorsport.
it was $92 with tax at my local stealership.
535i is a badge of honor. I'd keep it. It does look good either way though. Nice car.

535i is a badge of honor.
Even though I voted debadge, I agree. I always assume that debadged cars are 525s and figure that is what people assume about mine.

Just don't stick an M badge on. I saw some fool with "M650" badging on a convertible the other day. Who's he trying to impress?

I'm thinking about fabricating an M20 badge, and putting it on my M5 license plate frame instead on the trunk lid.

+1, I always enjoy checking out other E34s. If it is debadged I assume 525 until proven otherwise. :D

IMHO, if it's a stock 535 then it should say so. After you turbocharge that sucker or drop in a V12, then you can remove the badge and have a real story to tell when people ask about it. :D

The weight savings help immensely.
I had my regular old style badge on for a while, but thought it looked bad, and the car looks cleaner without it. Buttttt, then I felt like a poser, so I put on the 2.5 badge.

didnt really have a choice for me because it came debadged from the PO...but i think it has a cleaner look...regardless if its 2.5 or 3.5 L
