cat con

Do cats on an 525 m50 usually fail or is there known probs with them?
I failed a smog test and I am trying to weigh all options I was also told
non-oem cat-converters and bimmers dont like each other.

Worst thread title ever!! But anyways, I had an aftermarket high flow cat on my e28 and it was great, never had any sort of problems with it

If you didn't fail it too badly, get a bottle of this stuff called "Guaranteed to Pass" from O'reilly auto parts. I had a caddy with a bad cat and bad 02 sensor, and that stuff made it pass with flying colors. Make sure you follow the directions carefully otherwise you'll waste it.

Magnaflow makes some nice after market cats, and they won't rob you in the process.
