August 20, 2006 Steorn, an Irish company, claims to have produced a groundbreaking (we do not use this word lightly) technology which is based on the interaction of magnetic fields and produces free, clean and constant energy.

If the claims are true, the new technology will enable a significant range of benefits, from the convenience of never having to refuel your car or recharge your mobile phone, to a genuine solution to the need for zero emission energy production. It will also provide a secure supply of energy, since the components of the technology are readily available. Steorn’s technology appears to violate the ‘Principle of the Conservation of Energy’, (energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only change form) considered by many to be the most fundamental principle in our current understanding of the universe.

Fully aware that its claims will be considered bunkum by anyone who has graduated kindergarten, Steorn today issued a challenge to the global scientific community to test its free energy technology. Steorn has placed an advertisement in The Economist to attract the attention of the world’s leading scientists working in the field of experimental physics. From all the scientists who accept the challenge, twelve will be invited to take part in a rigorous testing exercise to prove that Steorn’s technology creates free energy. The results will be published worldwide.

The technology is in a constant state of development. The company has focused for the past three years on increasing power output and the development of test systems that allow detailedanalysis to be performed.

Steorn is making three claims for its technology:

1. The technology has a coefficient of performance greater than 100%. 2. The operation of the technology (i.e. the creation of energy) is not derived from the degradation of its component parts.
3. There is no identifiable environmental source of the energy (as might be witnessed by a cooling of ambient air temperature).

The sum of these claims is that the technology creates free energy.

This represents a significant challenge to current understanding of the universe and clearly such claims require independent validation from credible third parties. During 2005 Steorn embarked on a process of independent validation and approached a wide selection of academic institutions. The vast majority of these institutions refused to even look at the technology, however several did. Those who were prepared to complete testing are claimed (by Steorn) to have all confirmed the company's claims; however none will publicly go on record.

In early 2006 Steorn decided to seek validation from the scientific community in a more public forum, and as a result have published the challenge in The Economist. The company is seeking a jury of twelve qualified experimental physicists to define the tests required, the test centres to be used, monitor the analysis and then publish the results.

Steorn decided to publish its challenge in The Economist because of the breadth of its readership. “We chose it over a purely scientific magazine simply because we want to make the general public aware that this process is about to commence and to generate public support, awareness, interest etc for what we are doing.”

Sean McCarthy, CEO of Steorn, commented: “During the years of its development, our technology has been validated by various independent scientists and engineers. We are now seeking twelve of the most qualified and most cynical from the world’s scientific community to form an independent jury, test the technology in independent laboratories and publish their findings.

“We are under no illusions that there will be a lot of cynicism out there about our proposition, as it currently challenges one of the basic principles of physics. However, the implications of our technology go far beyond scientific curiosity: addressing many urgent global needs including security of energy supply and zero emission energy production. In order for these benefits to be achieved, we need the public validation and endorsement of the scientific community”.

“We’re playing our part in making that happen by throwing down the gauntlet with today’s announcement – now it’s over to the scientists to ensure that the real potential and benefits of our technology can be realised.”

Following the validation process, Steorn intends to license its technology to organisations within the energy sector. It will allow use of its technology royalty-free for certain purposes including water and rural electrification projects in third world countries, details to be announced later.

I think this guy has stumbled upon what's been known for awhile in other communities. I hope he don't get shot.

That is extremely interesting. I just did some of my own research on it and I'll wind up reading into this for weeks. Cuz.... i R smart¿

Wonderful find.

If its the real, the oil companies are going to purchase the patent for an infinite fortune and never release it ever again.

Cool tech if its real though :)

I wonder if the Mythbusters could go and have a look at this :)

Isn't that what Syndrome used to catch the Incredibles?

If this came through, this would be right up there in terms of significance with discovering the world is not flat.

It is really mind boggling to think how not being dependent on oil could change world politics.

There's going to be a big conspiracy with the oil and energy companies if it's true. We may here this guy dies accidentally falling out of a helicopter soon :|

Mmm... prison break...

Wow, if it's true, I'd like to put down my order for one X-Wing fighter please, GT model......:D

I'm guessing this is the king of technology that's going to take us there.....

We'll see.... I'm sceptical but open minded...

this guy nor the company wont last very long,,,the oil companies will try to purchace his technology and if he wont sell, the government will have one of their "agencies" do a disappearing act to him. we all know the government is trying to get all the oil they can and if theres no need for oil anymore because of an alternate energy, well i dont think the oil bigwigs are gonna like that so they will just pull the strings attached to pres. bush's hands to make that company and their technology disappear. just my 2cents, but i would love to hear more about the developments on this.
btw anybody knows what happened to the guy that created the very small light engine that weighed about 100lbs, revved to 18,000 rpm and put out something like 200+ hp ? it looked like a very small rotary engine and gave incredible fuel consumption(something like 1 liter of gasolene to 100kms or something like that) never heard of that guy again,,,, makes me wonder .....

tnt525i, that guys invention was in a lady's article in Roundel this month. Lemme look it up..jmorgan@roundel.org. Jenny Morgan. August 2006. Roundel.

Err.. The MYT engine. Massive Yet Tiny. Angel Labs of Lodi, California. www.angellabsllc.com.

150 lb engine. 14 by 14 inches. burns biodiesel to ethanol. Gets 850 Horsepower...

850 horsepower.....

Wow, anyhow, that's the new engine that even roundel was looking at. The zero point stuff is a century old in discovery, but still more efficient than this MYT engine. Cause it works anywhere, whereas the MYT engine still uses dead animal juice for fuel.

Oh, and in regards to zero point static energy. It's solid state. 2 metals rocks just sit there. The electric current comes from between the 2. The end. And what this would do overall is make every country equal.

Which country do you think wants to be equal with any other? Dominanance and power would be over- not just whole economies collapsing. You could make this in your home, grow your own food and never depend on another person again. Scary stuff- freedom.

every one is saying that the oil companies will not let this happen, well thats what every one was saying about the horse and buggy guys when the automobile was first invented

I dont believe this story but I would love to think that its true, if so it goes way beyond oil companies, governments etc.. this is the biggest thing to hit the earth ever! I would say the wheel and printing press would pale in significance as this would truly set the world free (well obviously ZP would not have been possibile without both of these). The possibilites once an invention like this becomes a reality are endless from there on in. On star trek enterprise captain archer was explaining how his world fought 3 world wars over energy, "it wasnt untill the year 2060 that we..." he was cut off, but if this thing worked just throw in 'discovered zero point'

This technology has exsisted for some time now. Stanely Meyer, the man in the news clip above was poisoned. So yes, the oil companies will try to stop this. But the difference in the 80's and now is MASS PUBLIC AWARENESS. You can't keep killing the inventors anymore, too many people know about this.

http://www.bwanetwork.com are going to be coming out with conversions in 2007 (hopefully). You can go to the office in new jersey to see the technologies yourself. Let me tell you, my M30 will have this. =)

The next thing after cold fusion ?

I bet the makers of "The Saint" have already lined up Val Kilmer for the sequel ! Shame Volvo doesn't have any hot cars at the moment.......

hehe.. That was pretty funny. But let me put it to you this way. If your 3 gerbils could do that, gerbils in total would be extinct.

Nobody believed that the car would amount to anything, that's why ranchers didn't kill Ford. My great grandmother rode a horse to school, and the concensus was that cars were expensive, noisy, and didn't jump hurdles very well. She finally got a car when she married. I don't think we're in the same situation now.
