The guy from Mpact (josh) was pretty cool, called him on friday. He called them and i called him back Yesterday...
I'll be able to drop it low for summer, and higher for winter :p
Thnx Lee_in_ottawa
PS.: he needs to know wich shocks ill be using and also the diameter of something what is that and is it the same for all 535ia 1991? And where can i find this info?

ground control's website says you can only use Koni shocks with their coil overs.

Pardon my ignorance, but that's why I'm asking. What does a coilover do that helps the car?

it allows adjustment of the spring height and tension.

Thanks BillionPA.
$399... not too shabby. I can pair them with the adjustable Konis I have lying around... maybe if I sell my existing Vogtland over Bilsteins...

I'm running GC track coilovers on my 318... good product, their customer service sucks tho, you have to hound them to finally get your package out (as if being a paying customer isn't enough!).
BTW, you know you need to get an alignment every time you adjust ride height, right? You should probably also get adjustible endlinks for your sway bars so you don't end up with preload...

you guys have a contact number for gc?
Monastie

over here: http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/gc2016-01
the only shocks option you have are konis....
i think i better find a contact number for ground controll and give em a call to make sure.

http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/description.php/II=18/CA=68
options on the website for the shocks:
-stock shocks will NOT work
-Koni, welded rear perch
-Koni, snap ring rear perch
-Bilstein barely works, ride quality poor
-Koni race, weld-on, specify springs
I guess ill have to buy Konis..... hummm i wish i wasnt so broke right now :D

****, I'm really excited they still make these... I was told they were totally out of production. Unfortunately, this is a bit more expensive then the Sachs kit I was planning on instead. :(

ya the shocks changed a little on the e34's, pretty sure you can find out what you need on www.bmwe34.net. Just have to see what top nut you have. 19mm or 22mm. BTW if they offer shortened or revalved shocks i'd take em.

I got mine from this guy. Great seller but now that i have problems with mine he wont answer a single e-mail. BTW guys so you know the 3 sets of GC's that went out to me and 2 other guys on bimmerforums were flawed. Make sure the problem was corrected. the front sleeve needed to be shorter. Also they ****ed up my order and sent me 2 other the same sleeves and i had to machine mine out myself.

With the GC coilovers? It also says that you have to do welding in order to install. What is that all about. I've done an install of H&R w/ Billies on my e30 and was a breeze. Not sure what you would be welding.

Thnx again for all the feedback Lee.
Instead of having to check for the info when they ask for it and call back, ill probably have my mecano give them a call and order them for me, and ill make sure they adjusted the front sleeve problem.
Oh and are the Konis adjustable also?

I order all my GC stuff thru www.mpactmotorsports.com They took care of me when I needed GC stuff sent out, there was a shipping delay, but they upgraded shipping on their nickel to make sure it got to me on time.
Do E34's link the sway to the control arm or the strut? I forget offhand, been about 4 years since I installed my RD bars...
sway bar is linked to the strut
TC535i

sway bar is linked to the strut
Okay... so basically what happens with the same length bar, is lowering the car pushes the sway bar somewhere it shouldn't be at normal ride height. This creates a load on the sway, and makes it a little stiffer/rougher than normal, because the bar's loaded up. What you can do is get a longer (adjustable) link to allow it to strech a little further, which lets the bar rotate back to its normal resting position. This removes the load and gives you a more comfortable ride, allowing the bar to only start acting when you get the suspension inputs it was designed for.
Another thing coilovers allow you to do is to adjust the different corners ride heights to even out weight distribution. Then it's DEFINITELY important to have adjustable links, since each side of the bar will be at a slightly different height. Then, not only is the bar preloaded like when you drop it evenly, but now it's preloaded unevenly, and will handle differently in different directions. No good.
Make sense?

The Mpact website shows that they don't have any more in stock, does anyone know if this is true? I sent them an e-mail, but haven't gotten a response.

I'm not sure if this is true, because I never got that far. When I talked to GC in California, they mentioned the front strut towers would probably have to be modified for them to work. Something to check into, as that killed the deal for me.

Anymore info on this? I would love to get some of these while they are still available if they are
