Stomp Test? 2/89 525i doesn't work

I think I read where this feature worked after 1990? Just curious because I tried this and it didn't work. Can someone confirm this?

I have read many times that 1988 cars had probs with stomp test. Is your car U.S. spec? Only U.S. cars have this feature.

if it is US theres a year when the stomp tests were installed. Bill R posted this info many times.

Heh, didn't know that it was only US spec E34s that had the stomp test.

And here I was the other day trying it on my car, stomping my go pedal like a fool ;-)

My tps/ wot switch was bad and would not trigger the ecu to go into the diagnostic mode. I used a wire to jump the connection and simulate a stomp test and retrieved the code.
