Don't take this personally, but why the HELL would you consider parting that car out rather than selling it whole???


Parting out cars is NOT the highway to easy money, trust me.

If you have a car that is wrecked or has a blown engine or something else major wrong with it, then MAYBE parting out would be the way to go. If the car is in decent overall shape, then clean it up and sell it whole, take the $$$ and run... If you're poor, buy an E30 or a Honduh or something cheap and reliable, learn how to work on it if you don't already know- don't be afraid to try.

Where are you in NC???? A nice 540i 6 speed should not be too hard to sell.......

Listen to Bret, he's the king of parts cars. I wish I could spend a day on his farm.

Don't part the car. You really don't need to be scared of the Nikasil issue. if it's lasted this long, it should be all good. If you went the parting route it would be a pain in the ass, and you'd be hard pressed to get 7k out of it. Too much work.
