WOT Merkur Xr4Ti restoration

I'm trying a different avenue to solve a problem - here goes. The Merkur forum didn't yield much, but I'm trying to figure out a way to replace a "misplaced" production decal off the driver door of the 1987 xr I'm restoring. Have any of you guys & girls ever heard of being able to have a new tag or decal with particular vehicle information made? I'm trying to figure out if Ford A G has a way of replacing this for me - but who & how to contact?

If you are looking to replace a decal with the VIN, forget it, at least through Ford. Perhaps some of the collector car suppliers will make it for you. Check Hemmings Motor News for ads.
If its something not serial number specific perhaps one of our German or Brit board members could source it.

I'm going to try to either have one made, or try to find a blank. I do have a part number for the sticker blanks, but it was discontinued long ago. Part # is E5RD-B20472-AB

If you have a sympathetic parts man he can put out a bulletin to other dealers who may have this on hand for some reason. A longshot for sure but it sounds like you really want one. Good Luck
