Lots of info, but the conclusion seems to be that the oil retains all the necessary properties for use well beyond the 3000 or even the 7500 mile mark, the tests also seem to indicate increased engine wear in the first 3000 miles of use suggesting longer change intervals might actually be beneficial to your engine as well as your bank account.
