i bypassed the relay with some wire (terminal 30 and 86 i think) then when to the turnk to see if the motor is makeing noise, not a sound.
so i went to autozone got a feul prassure tester, repaced old realy, and disconnected the supply to the fuel rail and turned the key to the on position and nothing.
relay did make a click when key was turned but, i did not check internals
am i missing something

My fuel pump died recently as well. I did not think of looking on ebay but did consider a used pump, until I found out how much a used pump was from a local bmw mechanic. Unfortunately I broke down and ended up buying a new one from the dealership at an outrageous $400 give or take a little. At least it was pretty easy to install... Like they say, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Good luck getting it fixed,

Check the connections to the pump and stay away from Autozone.

.... but anyway call up BMA (www.bmaparts.com) , I got a new one for like $225 from them a while back..... not sure if Bentley says to get the pressure out of the system before disconnecting, but if not make sure you do!
BTW, is your car 217K kilometers or miles on it...?

Did you check the fuse?
You should be able to find a used one on car-part.com for $100 or so. Just make sure they have a money back guarentee that it works.
