Check with some independent car dealer in your area. There are guys who go around and repair all the upholstry and convertible top problems at these places. I had a cigarette burn in my passenger seat when I got my car. Somebody told me about this guy so I called and made an appointment to meet him while he was at a local used car place one day. He was bleaching the top on a Mustang and repaired my seat while he was doing that. He let me watch and If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed it! Cost 50 bucks and that was seven years ago. Even today, if I didn't know exactly where the hole was, I couldn't find it. He textured the repair and them matched the color to spray the seat bottom. He did all the work right in the car. Check it out if you can.

Leatherique makes a repair kit that I used a few years back. It made a respectable looking repair out of a 3-4 inch tear. Check out their website. Color Plus may also make a similar kit.

I assume you can get just (and I use that term BMW lightly) buy the leather skins and have an upholsterer (or diy) replace them? Anyone price them?

in really nice condition- sold the fronts but the buyer did not need the rear. Also have a decent blue rear seat.

I checked bottom of drivers seat and think it was about $700.00 US...with discount. Not cheap. Been a while so may be off a little.

unless you are a supplier there running from 350-700 a seat! I need mine fixed bad...but not that bad. they are not hard to put on, I used to drink for an upholstery place and the hardest part with the covers was the little metal wire deals.
