Well, today..after yesterday's fiasco ;

...I took the valve cover off and reseated the gasket and put it all back together and then I changed the oil and oil filter (the filter had a crack all the way through). I drove it around for around 10 mins during which time the engine began to sound increasingly better, and no oil pressure light or warning.
The car is however, still leaking oil :( and appears now to be doing so from the oil sump/pan. Can you drop the pan from underneath the car? I have a bently manual but I can't understand how it wants me to remove things from under the hood when there are bolts holding the pan from underneath...unless I'm looking at the wrong thing...the oil pan IS what you take the bolt out of to drain for an oil change, right?
