535i Misfire

I've got a 1993 e34 535 Sport, it has recently been in to an auto electicians because there was no spark sometimes when trying to start the car, I think it was the crank sensor that was replaced and cured that problem. Now it has developed a misfire on cylinder 2, it wont spark at all, have tried swapping lead and plug with known good ones etc and had a look in distributor which looks fine. I'm trying to find out where the problem could be, from the crappy manual I've got it hints that this is probably a computer or sensor fault.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to where the fault might be?

Have you looked at the cap & rotor? Those, along with spark plug wires are wear items that should be replaced, in my opinion.
