I don't want to hear it! You shouldn't have sold, blah blah blah. Anyway, I need money, so I'm selling my Protege5 (the 540's replacement) and looking for a cheap BMW. $3k-ish price range. Must be mechanically excellent, cosmetics aren't as big of a deal, just so it's not obscene. No rust, and must be a stick, condition is a much bigger deal than mileage. Also needs to be in the general region of KS. Consider anything with a back seat big enough to cram a child seat into.:D
Try BMWCCA members... Roundel mag... and local chapter magazines...
I hope you find one!

Get a touring and convert to stick! Welcome back. There is currently a ton of E34's on ebay, you can sort by distance and see if any are local.

I didn't have the money to do what I wanted with the car, and it was too nice to let go to sh!t. I purchased the MP5 as a reliable, practical car, but now in anticipation of my wife quitting work to stay home with our son, I'm trying to come up with some extra cash. As a student, every little bit helps. I just want something cheap to get me around town until I graduate, and I'm not 100% set on a BMW. But, for $3k you can do a lot worse than a higher mileage BMW that's been maintained.

Hi Matt,
My bro' lives in Wichita ( I was also born there) and I live in Springfield Missouri now. I'll keep my eyes peeled for one in that price range. A freind of mine just bought a mega mile RED 525I 5-speed car for about that recently. So I know there are 5's out there like that somewhat often.
Welcome back to the abiss.

I've seen quite a few 525 and 535 5-speeds in the 150-200k range for about that price. Most appear to be in decent shape, finding them in the midwest is the challenge.
I don't want to hear it! You shouldn't have sold, blah blah blah.
It's true though...
An absolutely gorgeous 91 m5 is for sell down my street (Indiana) but they're asking 15 for it. I'll keep my eye out for you.

I do miss the 540, but I would have ended up selling it anyway. I need money, I'll get by with a just ok car if it's what's best for my family.

If we can go back in time, I'll trade you cars, and throw in an extra $3k. All you have to do is supply the time machine.
