Digital camera vs camcorder for engine pics?

Digital camera vs camcorder for engine pics? Need capability to post pics. Need photo capability, could use camcorder. 6 mega pixels is useless to me if 1.3 is max effectiveness for crt/pc display. Would a camcorder with the optional "still" mode do closeups?

Depends on the image quality of the digital video camera. Some have higher res stills than others, but the high-end digital camera will always dominate the high end digital video camera.

Even if the screen cant view more than 1024*768, a 6mpx camera would take alot better pictures than a 1.3mpx, you could f.ex zoom the picture 3 times as much before the pixels becomes visible.
