Radio Codes

I just got a 1996 BMW 525, and I want to turn the radio, but is asking for code. The guy where I got the car gave me a code, but is not working. What am I doing wrong. Help me please.

it might help by saying what you ARE doing that isn't working.

You only get so many tries before the radio locks you out. Let the car sit with the radio ON for 1-hour straight to unlock. Then enter the code. It is possible you have the wrong one. You can get the correct code from the dealer but you will need to pull the radio and get the serial number off the back.

i found that if you get locked out after trying to enter the radio code you can just pull the positive or negative off the battery for a minute or so and when you put it back on you can try again. not sure if it was a fluke, but it worked for me.

Disconnecting the battery allowed me to reset the code after I entered it wrong.
