Got my new (used) exhaust system today

The FedEx lady dropped it off no problem, but when I picked it up to look at it, I heard things rattling around inside--loose parts inside, perhaps. I could be wrong here, but just turning or shaking the thing a little bit shouldn't illicit any noise, correct? I'm thinking the shop either sent me a crumby muffler or it was damaged during delivery. Either way, it looks like I have some phone calls to make.

Heard they rust out from the inside. Seldom rust through, just get louder with internal parts rusting and rattling. IMO, used exhaust system parts are seldom worth the labor to put on.
