View Full Version : Why is my mixture so rich at cold startup?

Hi! I know this is a common thing on M20's, but I'd love to know why my injectors chuck like a million gallons of fuel in the mixture on a cold start?
If I fool the ECU to do a warm start, it starts lovely, without stinking of unburned fuel, that proves to me that an enriched mixture isn't necessary - anyone have thoughts about this 'non-problem'?

Thanks,

Shaun M

Faulty temperature sensor fooling the ECU into thinking it's a cold day, so that the ECU enriches the mixture?

I'll investigate it, I have a couple of spare blue ones hanging about somewhere....., any other M20 owners here have this problem?

Cheers,

Shaun

Er, no. Not while I had an M20.
