View Full Version : 91 M50 Engine Computer Bosch #?

Did an engine swap computer did not match w/95 e34. The engine being swapped came from a 1992 e34 but there is no build date on the engine only the year it was built 1991 - Since there was 2 different computers for that year the Bosch 405 thru 8/91 and Bosch 403 from 9/91 - 1/92 I cannot locate the vehicle the engine came from. I have spoken with several BMW dealers and all they can gave me is the part # 1214744859 for the DME. I have given to them the serial # that is on the 91 engine
WBAHD6319NBG69649 with no avail. I have call several recycle parts dealers and I'm being ask for the Bosch Number. Have any idea on how to resolve this issue? Will be greatly appreciated

Either a 405, 403 or 402 DME will work. The 405 is the earliest version, the 402 is the newest. The 405 and 403 use very similar software.

Why did you mention the 95 E34?

My car is a 1995 e34 blew up the heads then swapped the engine for a 1992 M50.

The engine was maufactured in 1991 with no production date engrave beside 91 and the vin # WBAHD6319NBG69649 engraved in the engine.
