Not a connector this time chaps, it's a module from the e-box. I'm just wondering 'what does it do?' Winner gets a bag of nuts.

Cheers,

Shaun

Have you tried sticking the part number of the module into realoem?

the pin count on the bottom seems to match that of the "idle control unit", which is a black box found in the e-box.

Would be a great help if you have a pic from the other side to read the maker, p/n and the other details on it.
Or just write it down.

Putting the part number in RealOEM was the first thing I did, before posting here. However the part number did not exist?! That module is out of an early M5. I thought it was the e-box fan controller but the idle control unit is more likely, as you all say.

Cheers,

Shaun

Why dont you give us the part number instead of messing us about with pics of parts which according your ur profile if for a 520, now you say its an M5.

Its clearly a bmw part, you can tell from the picture

Yeah, It was a bit naughty of me not to say what car the 'mystery unit' was from - I do apologise to you all - I guess it was the excitement of finding something I haven't seen before! I thought someone here may recognise it by sight. The part number is 13 62 1 312 450, and is from an M5 (year unknown) that has kindly donated me it's ABS pump & ecu.

Cheers,

Shaun

RealOEM is not all. Someone with a real ETK can also find out the new part numbers based on the old part numbers on your part.
If I see the other side and can read the German description on it, I might be able to tell you.
