Yeah, there were three types of 'OBC' available in the E34:
1) Analogue clock
2) Digital clock w/ temperature read-out
3) OBC IV as per the E32

I like warm half & half with some ginger, cardamom , corriander and agave nectar.Sometimes a banana goes good in it too.

Auction ends Nov. 5.
Present bid is 110.000 Yen, so approx. 1.100 US$

Sellers desired successful bid price 1.800 US$.

Reasonable price, don't you think so, although the interior is not like in US =
jap E34 version w/o OBC, leather seats, not heated seats, no Klimatronik (just aircon), no wood interior etc.

I didn't know that. I thought somebody "downgraded" the OBC to analog clock. :D

BTW, the E34s on Yahoo Japan auction sites are quite inexpensive (compare to US) and amazingly low mileage as well. For example, a 95 540i with 79,000km (~60,000 miles) for only $4500. What a deal!

Check out the gearstick, the handle is from a RHD car.
And stange that japan are a RHD country. but thats a LHD car..

79000 km are 49088 miles.
That is quite normal in Japan. To the office people travel by train/subway. A parking lot in Tokyo center costs about 400-500 $ a month, so why to rent a second one at the office (if there is one free at all). And train subway is much faster than by car.
Longer trips are made by shinkansen bullet train. For example the distance between Tokyo and Osaka is roughly 600 km, by Shinkansen it takes 2 H 30 minutes, by car maybe 8-10 hours.

Yes, Japan is RHD country. But in those days most people ordered LHD cars when they bought a foreign made car to stick out from the average crowd.

My E32 from 1988 is also LHD, and now has 132.000 km which is 82 k miles.

Because they are cheap and have low mileage, many of them are exported, mainly to Canada at the moment. Middle East, AUS and NZ also partly.

E34's in the uk can be picked up for as little as $600 US in a reasonable running condition with good paintwork and around 100k on the clock :o

If you want a fixer-upper look to around $200-400

Shogun, look at the SHAPE of the stick tho, shouldnt it be thicker at the front of the handle.

Here in Australia, an E34 only good for wrecking would fetch around AUD$4-5k (that's approx US$3000-3800 or GBP1600-2000). My E34 had cost me AUD$15.5k (USD$11500 or GBP6000)!

I had heard from somewhere before a long time ago that many Japanese purchase a LHD vehicle as they are seen more 'prestige' over there. It helps that LHD is legal there as well -- here in Australia LHD cars are legal only if they are more than 30 years old and/or have "THIS IS A LEFT HAND DRIVE VEHICLE" stickers on the back window or bumper.

... but I am 100% certain that the gearstick handle on that LHD car in Japan is for LHD. My RHD car has the handle pointing the other way (left).

I would like to fit the analog clock to my car. The obc could be stashed behind the dash somewhere perhaps.
Anyone here have a working one for me?

No one wants them in Germany, they all modify to OBC.
Maybe you also need the frame someone offers there.
