Dumb Question

Can someone tell me what activates the dual lights behind each sun visor? Mine have never come on & I just figured the bulbs were toast. Since all other interior lights worked it wasn't a big deal but today I finally popped them out & the bulbs were fine. I thought they were tied into the map light switch but that doesn't seem to be the case so what am I missing?

When you open the vanity mirror, it trips a switch and turns them on but ONLY if the headlights are on (or in parking light mode).

There is a metal contact where the sunvisors clip into their holders, mine were dirty and had to be cleaned before my lights would work.
Later models only needed the key turned to accessories to get the lights to work... Good luck :)

Thanks! I'd tried the vanity mirrors earlier but didn't think to turn on the headlights. Both sides work fine!
