As I need one for my Highline. The japanese made ones and Bosch are pretty expensive, at least double that price, not to mention BMW's price.
Someone offers here Hyundai batteries from Korea at 73 $.

So the Korean battery has cranking performance at 0 degree F. of 450 Amps.
DURALAST 49D has a cold cranking of 1.000 Amps at 32 degree F.
Then I can see on the plate cold cranking Amps 850
is that at 0 degree F. like the Korean?

And AutoZone says for the Duralast
**850 cold cranking amps (1000 cranking amps)**

Any comments from battery experts?
I'm no expert but I just bought a Duralast 49DL with 850CCA, the BMW battery that was in there before had 650CCA. Don't know the temperature that relates to the CCA number.
I paid $65 including 7% sales tax for the Duralast, it fit perfectly under the seat and came with the vent tube kit. Seemed like a good deal. Has a 2 year replacement warranty, 7 year pro-rated.
They gave 10% off the price of the battery for buying a kit of felt pads and grease for the terminals for $1.99 that was taped to the battery.

duralast 49d has a cranking amp capacity of 1000 amps at 0 dC or 32 dF. cold cranking amps are a measure of amperage at 0 dF or -18 dC. the duralast has 850 amps at 0 dF. i have a duralast 49d, and it has a BIG reserve time (its pretty big)--and i know this from practical experience, not just the label on the battery. i don't have any trouble believing the 850 amp number is correct. you can't beat the price/value of the duralast if you live in the US or a canadian border town.
So the Korean battery has cranking performance at 0 degree F. of 450 Amps.
DURALAST 49D has a cold cranking of 1.000 Amps at 32 degree F.

Problem is that with the electric seat at the rear on the 750 Highline the max height is 175 mm. The other data are negnectable.
357L X175W X175H
Last year I bought a quite expensive japanese battery with a height of 195 mm, does not fit, the seat frame touches the battery. I tried many things, extensions of the connector, moving the battery a few cm where possible. NO WAY. The seat does not clip in.
Now I know from other people in Europe, that there is 'no go' with a height of more than 175 mm.
85 A is fine, because I have another 2nd battery in the trunk on the highline, not on the other 750iL. The trunk battery is smaller.
The only thing which worries me a bit is this:
the Korean battery has cranking performance at 0 degree F. of 450 Amps.
DURALAST 49D has a cold cranking of 1.000 Amps at 32 degree F.
Then I can see on the plate cold cranking Amps 850
We have no cold winter here in my area, no snow, usually above 0 degree.
But even if that cheap battery dies after 2-3 years and I buy a new one of the same brand, that is in total still 1/3 cheaper than the BMW OEM battery.
have to calculate like this. Too many cars , many batteries to be replaced/serviced, several trickle chargers on the cars which I do not use often.

i don't know if it was bill r that recommended the duralast 49d over the specified battery, but it was a good one at the time. the group 48d (specified) has 700 CCA and 870 Ca, the 49B has the 1k CA and 850 CCA. i don't know if the battery you provided was a special, extra expensive version, but when i bought my 49d (in 2003) the difference between the two in price was under $15 dollars, so i bought the 49d instead. the website right now says that the group 48 is $59, so the price may have gone up a decent bit.

0 degree F is very low... even lower than 0 degree C so from this reading... you probably have about 600 CCA at 0 degree C or 32 degree F... which is enough for what you need.
